Help
So you want to know how to make the most of Morning Dan, right? Maybe figure out a way to listen to it while you’re driving to work? Well this is where you can figure that out.
There are 3 basic ways you can listen to Morning Dan. I’ll go into more detail on each, but first, here are those options:
- Listen right now, on your computer
- Listen later, on your computer
- Listen later, on your mp3 player (this includes iPods/iPhones).
Listen right now
There are two different things you can listen to: The online radio station OR the individual episodes. All you have to do is, on the right-hand side of this website, find the “Click here to listen to Morning Dan” button for the talk show episodes or, for the music, find the “Click here to listen to Radio Dan.” You will always be able to listen from the website, but this usually means being stuck at your computer. We encourage you to listen in your car, at the gym, or somewhere else you’d like time to pass faster. If you’d like to try that, check out the section about listening on an mp3 player.
Listen later, on your computer
You can download Morning Dan and listen to it ‘on demand’ of sorts. Within each post is a link to the the mp3 containing the show. You can right-click and save that to your computer for later listening. The better way of doing this, though, is to *subscribe* to Morning Dan. This means that you tell your computer to automatically download new episodes when they are released, and then it can be waiting for you whenever you’re ready. And the good news? This is very simple! We suggest putting a program called iTunes on your computer. If Morning Dan is like a magazine subscription, iTunes is like your mailbox that it would arrive in. You can get it here. Once it’s installed on your computer, click here to automatically subscribe. So easy, huh?
Listen later, on your mp3 player, iPod, or iPhone
It’s probably safe to say that if you’re reading this section, you have an iPod of some kind. If you have something else, chances are you already know how to put audio files on it, but if not, write us a note and we’d be glad to help.
So you’ve got iTunes on your computer already. All you have to do is click here to subscribe to the Morning Dan podcast and make sure iTunes is set to sync podcasts with the iPod. Here’s how to make sure it will sync:
1. With iTunes open, connect your iPod as usual.
2. On the left side, click your iPod’s icon and then choose the Podcasts tab.
3. Check the box at the top that says “Sync all unplayed episodes” and then select either “All podcasts” or “Selected podcasts.”
4. Click “Apply” and now Morning Dan and other podcasts you subscribe to will sync to your iPod when you connect it to your computer. You can also force a sync whenever you’d like.
Additionally, to iPod Touch and iPhone users, you can connect to iTunes ON your phone or iPod and download the podcast from there. Just search for Morning Dan in iTunes. We also hope to have an iPhone-friendly website eventually!
NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you are having problems with what you want to listen to, PLEASE send us an email (dan@morningdan.com) to let us know. We’ll get right on it to make it work for you!
